One of our ministries at Downcity Church is called CONNECT. If you have investigated our website at all, you have probably discovered a blurb describing this ministry. CONNECT is a network of small groups composed of no less than 5 and no more than 12 people who meet regularly in a specific neighborhood of Providence.

What is the goal of CONNECT? In a nutshell, these groups exist to apply the Gospel to our lives through worship, Bible study, sharing, prayer, and mission. The key word in the last sentence is the word "apply". In essence, we are attempting to ensure that all the knowledge we are gaining as we pursue Jesus together is getting CONNECTed to our everyday lives. As this occurs, we are confident that we will experience the power and presence of Jesus resulting in transformed lives. We view this ministry as more than a nice opportunity; we view it as vital to engagement in the life of our church. Why is CONNECT so essential? In my next post, I am going to make my case for the importance of a ministry like CONNECT.
